Valbrembo (Bergamo), Decembre 2018 – The professional coffee machine brand Gaggia Milano is back to setting again the tone for professional coffee culture with a new product line. The brand –whose founder Achille Gaggia invented the extraction process to brew espresso coffee topped with crema– played a major role in making Italian espresso a worldwide cultural phenomenon. The brand relaunch, based on a development plan spanning several years, will benefit from the Ho.Re.Ca. industry expertise of Evoca Group, which purchased the licence in 2016.

The task of interpreting the brand’s Italian spirit has been entrusted to the Bonetto Design Center, which conceived a machine design that combines elegant lines and metallic surfaces to highlight the brand’s reliability.

The line consists of two traditional machines and one super-automatic machine –the first of its kind bearing the Gaggia Milano name– for a complete product range.

la Reale is the traditional premium model specifically designed to lead the relaunch of the brand. A perfect blend of tradition and innovation, its bold lines and its body, on which light reflections create a shimmering effect, are a throw-back to Gaggia Milano’s long history in the world’s finest cafés, while its cutting-edge technology ensures that it is suited to today’s coffee culture in the various markets. The first 100 machines will form a numbered limited edition, marking the dawn of a new era, in which customers and enthusiasts are also invited to play a part.

la Radiosa, a super-automatic machine featuring integrated connectivity and a multi-colour LED profile, represents an important new addition to the brand’s portfolio. The line is rounded out by another traditional machine, la Giusta, marked by excellent performance and a style that clearly evokes the brand’s original spirit.

The entire range is built from cutting-edge technology when it comes to brew systems, leveraging the experience and research contributed by Evoca Group and thus ensuring that the machines excel not only on the Italian market, but also in countries around the world. The launch of the new machines will be supported by the Group’s marketing platform and the customer service system through the Evoca network.

The range, which was unveiled at the event celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Gaggia Milano brand, will be introduced gradually to the market in 2019, with a presence at all the main industry trade fairs and gatherings. The relaunch of the brand will continue over the following two years, during which the range will be completed by adding extra-premium models, as well as other mainstream and super-automatic machines.

Following the brand’s big come-back, a Gaggia Milan History Club will be formed next year with the goal of bringing together enthusiasts everywhere and promoting interesting activities relating to café culture to continue celebrating the relaunch of the Italian espresso.

Valbrembo (Bergamo, Italy) Decembre 2018 - Evoca Group, a world-leading manufacturer of professional coffee machines, celebrated the 80th anniversary of Gaggia Milano, a brand that is a byword for Italian espresso. The event marked the brand’s return, presenting a new range of professional machines that combines the powerful heritage of Gaggia Milano and the innovative technology of the Evoca Group’s expertise.

The history of the brand started with an innovative idea of the founder Achille Gaggia, who — back in 1938— invented the crema layer and revolutionised the process of the espresso making. The exclusively Italian tradition of espresso coffee rapidly spread all over the world in the ‘50s, leading to the production of Gaggia professional coffee machines on a large scale.

The anniversary celebration —set against the beautiful backdrop of Palazzo Bovara, where the new range of Gaggia Milano professional machines was unveiled— was the occasion for retracing the brand’s history and celebrating its return in grand style.

The presentation of the new machines was a striking success,” states Andrea Zocchi, Chief Executive Officer of EVOCA S.p.A. “We are very pleased to have had the chance to share Evoca Group’s vision for the future of the brand Gaggia Milano: this event marked the beginning of a new exciting story.

To reinforce its position in the Ho.Re.Ca market, Evoca Group acquired the license of the brand Gaggia Milano two years ago with the aim of relaunching the iconic brand through an appropriate investment plan and reaffirming its historical leadership on the professional market.

Certainly, there are all the assumptions for a successful return of a worldwide known brand such as Gaggia Milano in the premium segment,” continues Zocchi. “We have been working for two years with a dedicated team to set the renovation of Gaggia Milano and create a new range of professional machines, focusing on the Italian coffee tradition and the best technological innovation of the Evoca Group.

Leveraging on the powerful brand reputation, Evoca Group integrated all the values of the Gaggia Milano brand in the development of the new professional coffee machines that are leading the relaunch:

- a modern design that also includes stylish features of the legendary Fifties, when Gaggia Milano started on its road to success

-  a premium positioning, coherent with the quality and reliability standard expected by the brand

-  an innovative technology, respecting the great culture and the important tradition of the Italian
espresso.

The Italian soul has been integrated in the whole creation of the new range, from design to production, as all the new machines will be manufactured in Italian plants.

The Gaggia Milano new range, presented during the event, will be released during 2019. The first highly premium machine “la Reale” will be available starting from January 2019, while the other two models — the automatic premium machine “la Radiosa” and the traditional machine “la Giusta” — will be released in the second part of the year.
